Diddy Hated This Rapper Friendship & More Revealed in Shocking Exposé
A scathing Rolling Stone profile was published this week, breaking down who Sean “Diddy” Combs really is. From allegations of abusing his power in the industry to abusing other women, the article shed light on Diddy’s behavior in the ‘90s and exposed shocking revelations about his relationships with hip-hop legends Biggie and Tupac Shakur.
Diddy’s Rolling Stone piece is one of the craziest things I ever read in my life.

Tupac & Biggie disliked Diddy
According to Rolling Stone’s sources, Combs wanted to be friends with Tupac and even saw his song “I Get Around” as a potential blueprint for commercial hip-hop. However, Shakur didn’t feel the same way about Combs.
Hip-hop photographer Monique Bunn stated that “Pac didn’t have any kind of respect for Puff,” and that both Shakur and Biggie saw Combs as a “corny executive.”
She also said that “[Biggie] was absolutely about to leave Puff. I know for a fact [because] he told me that,” referring to Biggie’s record deal with Combs’ Bad Boy label. There have been rumors of Combs’ involvement in the murders of both Biggie and Tupac, but nothing has ever been substantiated.
Before his death, the Notorious B.I.G. was allegedly fighting to get out of his deal with Diddy.
A friend of Biggie's told Rolling Stone that there was a legal battle happening behind the scenes, but he passed away in 1997 before it reached a conclusion.

Diddy strategized the beef between Tupac and Biggie
Over time, Diddy watched a friendship grow between Biggie and Tupac while allegedly being envious from afar. However, it was cut short. In 1994, Tupac was involved in a Times Square shooting and blamed Bad Boy Records.
According to the article, amongst all the chaos, Combs found the perfect opportunity to turn up the beef. He released Biggie’s 1995 record “Who Shot Ya?” to which Tupac responded with one of the greatest diss tracks of all time, “Hit ‘Em Up.”

Diddy wouldn’t let Rolling Stone honor Biggie after his death
When both of the rappers tragically passed away in the late 1990s, Combs didn’t let anyone, including himself, take time off to mourn.
Kirk Burrowes, Bad Boy's co-founding partner and former president, said that Rolling Stone approached the label with a front cover opportunity for Biggie after his death. Burrowes encouraged Combs to give Biggie the cover, but Combs refused.
“He’s like ‘No, he’s dead. I’m putting out [Combs’ debut album, No Way Out] in July. I need to be on the cover of Rolling Stone,’” Burrowes recalled.
Two years after the cover shoot, Combs told Rolling Stone in 1999 that Biggie’s passing “added to the fame … At least 2M [of the nearly 5M copies of No Way Out] sold were due to [his death], straight up. And that doesn’t necessarily feel good, but that’s the reality.”
Is There Another Kendrick Diss in the Works?
Drake’s longtime producer Boi-1da had his Twitter (and Insta) fingers on go this week. He started off on X (formerly Twitter) on May 28 by simply posting “tap, tap tap tap.”
He followed that up on Instagram with a picture of him whispering into Drake’s ear, posted on his story. Important to note that Boi-1da co-produced all three of Drizzy’s officially released diss tracks, so fans were curious about the cryptic messages.

Quoting Drake’s song “Family Matters,” X user ScottDezo100 tweeted in response to the Boi-1da posts, “I'm losin' perspective on beef…Boi-1da send beat and I'll kill you for fun.”
Excited for more drama, X user thunderxstorm07 tweeted, “I’m really petty, so I'm secretly hoping it's just another failed diss track, and it stirs up trouble again.”
Despite what fans were hoping for, Boi-1da tried to shut down rumors of retaliation. In the comments of DJ Akademiks’ post about his tweet, he said, “guys LOL cmon man.”
But the timing of Boi-1da’s subtweets was curious given this week’s negative press about more of Drake’s reference tracks leaking. It was revealed that Vory, not Drake, was the genesis of “Mob Ties,” making the editor notes on Drake’s Scorpion album (which features the song) look comedic.

Even worse, Kendrick’s “Not Like Us” broke Drake’s 2021 Spotify record with “Girls Like Girls” for most streams in a day. It wouldn’t be a bad time for Drake to clap back with a signature Boi-1da beat.
