Songs Streams & Revenue

streaming revenue chart

As reported by Hits Daily Double for the week of July 19 to July 25.

It’s a new week and a new song revenue chart. As reported by Hits Daily Double, which tracks streaming revenue week over week, the above chart reflects the streaming period from July 19 to July 25.

Despite a slight decrease in revenue, K. Dot’s “Not Like Us” and Tommy Richman’s “Million Dollar Baby” are still going strong on the charts. As “Mamushi” takes over TikTok, it goes up to the top of the chart. Meanwhile, Eminem has a combined revenue of about $89K for his songs “Houdini” and “Somebody Save Me.”

Why Does New York Now Have Beef With Lil Yachty?

Lil Yachty in front of the New York timeline

Along with his unique rap style, Lil Yachty is also known to wear some polarizing fits. From oversized sweatshirts and pants straight off of the runway, he has a distinct fashion sense. However, that doesn’t mean his opinion on the way other New Yorkers dress is welcome.

What did Lil Yachty say?

His July 24 podcast episode with Cash Cobain wasn’t exactly A Safe Place. Talking about Cash Cobain’s hometown, Lil Boat said that he feels “like New York didn't have this, like…I don't want to say identity…Y'all are so clearly separated now. As far as like, everyone used to just kinda copy Atlanta. As far as style goes, I don't think it's sh*t going on when it comes to New York fashion.”

Immediately, the people of New York strapped up their Timbs and hit social media to flame up the rapper.

However, it was when big names in New York rap also entered the chat that things started to pop off.

New York rappers respond

Fivio Foreign in a July 29 tweet pointed out “how yachty say ATL dress better then ny w a whole NY fit,” in a July 29 tweet.

Meanwhile, Juelz Santana went a lot more in-depth with his critiques, even shouting out people like A$AP Rocky who have been making moves in the name of New York Fashion.

Lil Boat addressed his comments, saying that he would never “discredit Dipset” and that the rapper misunderstood what he was trying to say. He went on Instagram Live and then on TikTok to try to face the backlash head-on and share his POV again.

"When you go back to a certain time, it's for sure New York," he said. "If you think about lately, trends come from Atlanta. I think a lot of the flyest people in the world were born in New York. That's a fact. But, come on, bruh. As of lately, Atlanta,” he said in the TikTok video.

Rappers like ASAP Nast are still responding to Lil Yachty’s comments despite his “apology” tour.

If he gets caught wearing an NY-inspired fit right now, the people are going to band together to get on his head while holding a chopped cheese.

All of the Rap Moments at Kamala Harris’ Atlanta Rally

Megan Thee Stallion, Kamala Harris and Quavo

On July 30, Vice President Kamala Harris made her way to ATL to raise awareness and support around her Presidential campaign. But people in the crowd got unexpected cameos from hip-hop figures like Quavo and Megan Thee Stallion.

VP Harris has support from Quavo

To add to the list of rappers who are pro-Harris, Quavo hopped on the mic to share his support for VP Harris and her views on gun violence.

“One of these issues that I care about is resolving the gun-violence issue. You can’t understand the struggle of gun violence if you not in the field or in the heart of it … So, one thing I learned from working with Vice-President Harris is she always stand on business. From inviting me to the White House last year to discuss these solutions, to passing the biggest gun-safety laws today,” Quavo said on stage.

Taking it a step further, VP Harris referenced a Migos song in her remarks about border control to the crowd.

“Donald Trump, on the other hand, has been talking a big game about securing our border but he does not walk the walk … Or as my friend Quavo would say, he does not ‘walk it like he talks  it,’” VP Harris said.

Megan Thee Stallion gets presidential

Fitted down in a blue suit, Megan Thee Stallion performed some of her biggest hits (the clean versions, obviously) while also declaring what needs to be done this election season.

“Not Like Us” really is played everywhere

As the final culture shout-out, “Not Like Us” was played during the rally, and everyone (and we do mean everyone) began to go in.

VP Harris’ Atlanta rally wasn’t just your typical rally stop on the road – it was a mini hip-hop celebration. Trump has his support from the rap community like Sexxy Red and Waka Flocka Flame. Nevertheless, VP Harris got some pretty big co-signs Tuesday night.
