Young Thug’s Album Rollout Has Started

Young Thug in front of a planet

Since his long-awaited release from jail last October, Young Thug has appeared on projects including Lil Baby’s WHAM on the track “Dum, Dumb, and Dumber” along with Future and Playboi Carti’s MUSIC on the song “WE NEED ALL DA VIBES” with Ty Dolla $ign.

With each guest verse, though, one central question continues to be asked across social media — when are we getting a new solo Thugga project? After clearing his Instagram on March 13, the rapper recently posted up at a basketball game to drop more potential hints.

Thugga’s ballin’ on and off the court

Sitting alongside girlfriend Mariah the Scientist (because prison love triangles are no match for real love) at the Miami Heat vs. GSW game on March 25, the duo got handed brand-new jerseys. While Mariah’s said “The Scientist,” Thugga had “Uy Scuti” on the back.

Uy Scuti is the name for the biggest star in the universe (it’s so giant it can fit the volume of almost 5 billion Suns inside itself). The next day, the rapper tweeted that “KING SPIDER THE BIGGEST STAR” and followed a new IG account with the same name (just with some extra i’s).

There are no posts on the account yet, but it already has over 18,000 followers and counting.

Boosting the potential album rollout excitement even more, Future (who has songs like 2017’s “Relationship” and 2019’s “Sup Mate” with the rapper) posted “UY SCUTI” himself on X on March 26. Then, adding fuel to the album rumor fire, Lil Baby changed his IG profile picture to a photo of Thug’s “UY SCUTI” jersey.

In January, Lil Baby teased a joint project with Future but said they were holding off on completion until Thug could contribute. It’s unclear if all the “UY SCUTI” clues are a rollout for a collab album from the ATL trio or if Thug is making his long-awaited solo return after surviving the longest criminal trial in Georgia history.

On the heels of those clues, Summer Smash finally revealed their lineup for the festival taking place on June 20-22 in Chicago, and Thug is headlining alongside Future, Don Toliver, and Yeat. Thug’s announcement as headliner is huge because it’ll mark his first performance post-prison—the UY Scuti star seems to be aligning for an album rollout. If there’s one thing Playboi Carti did right, it was dropping MUSIC right before his Rolling Loud Cali performance.

Ye Drops New "WW3" Song as Lawsuit News Breaks

Ye in front

Ye might have gone a week without crashing out on X (which feels like a month in Ye time), but that doesn’t mean he’s completely silent. After officially dropping BULLY V1 on March 18, along with a short film starring his son Saint, the rapper has decided to drop even more music. However, his newest release could be potentially overshadowed by yet another lawsuit that’s been handed down to him.

Ye releases “WW3” song

The new track, "WW3," was previously teased by Dave Blunts and Adin Ross (who had some not-so-favorable thoughts about it). Initial fan reactions are mixed, IG user @yevault commented, “Finally not AI, but them lyrics bro…” while another user said, “Bro made a meme song trying to rage bait.”

Some of his controversial lyrics include declaring he voted for “Trump, not Biden,” that he “went to the dentist and got me some nitrous,” and that he is “rockin' Swastikas 'cause all my n***** N*zis.” There are more offensive antisemitic lyrics that don’t need to be highlighted, but the song does have an overall meme vibe, which seems to be a ploy for attention and engagement.

However, unlike Ashton Hall, whose engagement farming was so absurdly hilarious with a 6-hour morning routine that didn’t offend anyone, Ye’s antics have grown tired. What would be more news-breaking is if he put down the “how to incite violence” playbook and made music that didn’t result in a lawsuit.

Ye has faced more lawsuits over alleged unauthorized use of music than some kids have had McDonald's Happy Meals. One of his more recent legal battles began last July when he used the instrumental "MSD PT2" on his Donda tracks "Moon" and "Hurricane" without securing proper clearance—a lawsuit that remains ongoing.

Now, singer-songwriter Alice Merton is taking legal action against him for allegedly sampling her song "Blindside" without permission on the VULTURES 2 digital deluxe track "Gun to My Head."

According to the lawsuit, Ye’s team reached out to Merton—a German artist with family members who survived the Holocaust—to clear the sample. However, she declined, citing concerns over his rhetoric and conflicting values. She further claims that since the track’s release, she has become a target of online harassment from Ye’s fans.

"After the refusal of Ye's team to pull the track off the internet in its entirety, the filing of this complaint was the only action Ms. Merton could take to try and stop its dissemination and associated dangers to her safety and damages to her reputation," her attorney Dylan D. Grimes stated. Ye and his team have yet to respond to the lawsuit.

Is "WW3" a good song?
