Billboard Hot 100

Billboard hot 100 chart

As reported by Billboard for the week of August 10.

The above chart shows Billboard’s Hot 100 ranking for this week. The Hot 100 ranks songs based on streaming activity, radio airplay audience impressions, and sales data—all measured by Luminate.

While K. Dot’s “Not Like Us” maintained its third spot, “Million Dollar Baby” by Tommy Richman dropped by one spot. “Like That” is making a slight comeback, rising up one spot on the chart. Meanwhile, Megan Thee Stallion and Glorilla kept their rankings with “Wanna Be.”

How is VULTURES 2 Already Involved in Tons of Drama?

Kanye and the album cover for vultures 2

After months of giving wrong release dates and false hope for fans, Ye and Ty Dolla $ign have finally dropped VULTURES 2. Of course, those in Ye’s loyal fanbase will say that the album is perfection from top to bottom. Nevertheless, some love the VULTURES duo, but not necessarily this album.

This is sadly only a small piece of the drama that the album has been enveloped in since its August 3 drop.

Fans aren’t feeling the album

Despite the love VULTURES 1 received, many fans of both artists thought the new release was a flop.

“Modern kanye fans are like male swifties at this point. You can’t sit there with a straight face and tell me this dude hasn’t lost it. Vultures 2 is awful unfinished or not. Been a ye fan for well over a decade, I won’t force myself to like this album like y’all mfs,” X user Luq said in an August 3 post.

To make matters even worse, fans are theorizing that Ye committed a cardinal sin—using AI vocals on his song “Sky City,” where Ye’s voice doesn’t even sound the same.

As if using fake vocals isn’t enough, there is allegedly unauthorized sample use, too.

The controversial samples and lyrics

Singer Swsh's song “Break The Fall (Acoustic)” was used in the song “530” without their permission.

The same issue arises in the song “Field Trip,” which samples the song “Machine Gun” by Portishead. However, the band’s co-founder Geoff Barrow says they never got the correct clearance as well.

Sampling without permission is a Ye flaw that has been in the spotlight for years, along with his controversial lyrics.

For example, in his song “Lifestyle (Demo)” with Ty Dolla $ign and Lil Wayne, Ye raps that he twists “my Taylor spliffs tight at the end like Travis Kelce.” The two have been involved in drama together for over a decade, from Ye interrupting her MTV VMAs speech to him having a naked wax figure of her in the “Famous” music video.

Ye is currently updating the songs after hearing fans complain about the crappy mixing, vocals, and overall lack of aura. Nevertheless, the initial listen of VULTURES 2, and the drama that followed left a sour taste in some fans’ mouths.

Adin Ross and Donald Trump Discuss Ye and Young Thug Live

Donald Trump and Adin Ross

Was Adin Ross dancing with Donald Trump next to a cybertruck on your 2024 bingo card? It wasn’t on ours, but here we are.

On August 5, controversial streamer Adin Ross got former President and Republican nominee Donald Trump to join him on his livestream on Kick. He entered the stream with a walkout to 50 Cent’s “Many Men,” which even 50 Cent joked about after Trump’s assassination attempt.

They talked politics, did some carpool karaoke, and Ross casually gave out some gifts—a Rollie and a Tesla Cybertruck with Trump’s assassination picture on it.

However, one of the most talked about moments was when Ross and Trump sat down to discuss two of the biggest figures in hip-hop.

Trump shares his thoughts on Ye and Young Thug

Adin Ross shared details about Young Thug and asked Trump if there was a way for the rapper to be treated fairly. For context, the Fulton County DA handed both Thugga and Trump a RICO indictment.

"So, I've heard about him, and I hear he's being treated very unfairly by [Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis] … I've heard it from other people where they say he’s being treated very unfairly. He's got to be treated fairly,” Trump said in response.

During his RICO trial, Thugga has faced numerous issues, with just recently, the third judge (Paige Reese Whitaker) to preside over his case denying a motion for bond. He’s been in jail for more than two years already.

The duo also talked about Ye and his true intentions.

‘“He’s a very complicated…Let’s say complicated because he is. He’s a really nice guy, but he can get some people into trouble. And he can get some other people. He’s got a good heart — he does, he does, but he’s complicated,” Trump said about West.

Ye has supported Trump despite running against him in 2020.

Regardless of the controversy, the live stream peaked at 500,000 viewers. While Trump may not have the support of everyone in the rap community, talking about big names like Ye and Young Thug gets him more pop culture exposure.
