Billboard Hot 100

Billboard Hot 100 Chart

As reported by Billboard for the week of August 3.

The above chart shows Billboard’s Hot 100 ranking for this week. The Hot 100 ranks songs based on streaming activity, radio airplay audience impressions, and sales data—all measured by Luminate.

K. Dot and Tommy Richman both maintain their previous spots from last week with “Not Like Us” and “Million Dollar Baby.” Eminem’s “Houdini” has dropped down seven spots from #10 to #17 as Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That” only drops down a single spot. Meanwhile, Megan Thee Stallion’s “Mamushi” with Yuki Chiba jumps from #51 to #36 this week.

2Pac’s Family is Investigating Diddy For This Reason

Diddy is continuing to face the consequences of his past actions. Since the 2016 footage of him physically assaulting ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura was released, he’s had to return his key to New York City and had his honorary degree from Howard University revoked.

However, the head “Bad Boy” could now be in even more trouble for his moves in the ‘90s.

What is Diddy being accused of?

The family of L.A. rap legend 2Pac has put together a new legal team to investigate Diddy’s alleged involvement in his 1996 murder. This all stems from claims coming back to life from Duane “Keefe D” Davis, who was officially charged with 2Pac’s murder in 2023.

Diddy and 2Pac were not always on good terms. A scathing May Rolling Stone article about Diddy stated that he was jealous of 2Pac and Biggie’s growing friendship, especially because of 2Pac’s lack of respect for him.

Once 2Pac was shot five times in 1994, any remaining ties between him and Diddy were long gone. He said that Bad Boys Records set him up, which started the musical back and forth between the two labels. Nevertheless, Diddy has vehemently denied any role in 2Pac’s murder despite their bad blood.

Who is Keefe D, and how is he involved?

In a 2009 interview with police, Davis broke down what happened the night of 2Pac’s murder. He also discusses it in his 2016 self-published memoir Compton Street Legend, where he openly admitted to being on the scene the night of 2Pac’s murder.

The rapper pulled up with his crew to watch Mike Tyson and Bruce Seldon fight at Vegas’ MGM Grand. However, he ended up throwing hands with Davis’ nephew, Orlando Anderson. Anderson already had beef with Death Row Records in the past after getting his chain stolen by Trevon Lane, one of the people riding along with 2Pac that night.

When Shakur left the casino, investigators believe that Anderson got a gun, pulled up to the rapper’s BMW while they were at a stop light, and fired off the shots that led to his death. Davis was in the car when everything went down.

"Orlando said, 'Give it here, I'll shoot.’ And he got to shooting,” Davis said during the interview.

However, investigators think that Davis did more than sit in the backseat that night. They believe that he allegedly could have provided the murder weapon as well. When the Las Vegas police searched Davis’ home in July 2023, they found “multiple computers, a cellphone, a hard drive, a Vibe magazine that featured Shakur, several .40-caliber bullets, two tubs containing photographs, and a copy of Davis’ memoir.”

This eventually led to an indictment from a grand jury and his eventual arrest in September that year.

In the same interview, though, Davis revealed information about Diddy that is now leading to a deep dive into his past as well. He claims that Diddy offered him a million dollars to kill Suge Knight and 2Pac during the war between Bad Boy Records and Death Row Records in the 1990s. He also said that he eventually gave half of that reward money to Harlem gangster Eric “Von Zip” Martin once 2Pac passed away.

Is A$AP Rocky Officially Entering His Drake Diss Era?

A$AP Rocky holding his sunglasses and Drake

A$AP Rocky and Drake went from releasing collabs together like 2012’s “F**kin’ Problems” to throwing shots at each other on different tracks like A$AP Rocky’s verse on “Show of Hands” with Future and Metro Boomin released in April.

“Call up Pluto, Metro, should've put me on the first one, N****s swear they bitch the baddest, I just bagged the worst one, N****s in they feelings over women, what, you hurt or somethin', I smash before you birthed, son, Flacko hit it first, son,” he spat on the track.

Drake fired back on May’s K. Dot diss track “Family Matters” directly, stating, “Rakim talkin' s**t again, Gassed 'cause you hit my BM first, n****, do the math, who I was hittin' then, I ain't even know you rapped still 'cause they only talkin' 'bout your 'fit again, Probably gotta have a kid again 'fore you think of droppin' any s**t again…”

With A$AP Rocky’s new project Don’t Be Dumb dropping in August, it seems that the New York native has more words for the Houston cosplayer.

Hot 97 spills the tea

DJ Kast One dropped new info about the project while talking on Hot 97. He got a first listen after attending a listening event and said that A$AP Rocky is going to be “addressing a lot of the main topics that are happening out there right now. Let’s just say the list keeps going on strong,” including Drake.

Host Ebro Darden asked if A$AP Rocky is still on Drake’s list and DJ Kast One responded with “Oh, he’s gonna be cemented on the list after this.”

What we know about Don’t Be Dumb so far

During the Hot 97 broadcast, DJ Kast One confirmed that Slick Rick will be on the album. The public is slowly starting to get more details about the album, but not necessarily about how A$AP Rocky is going to pop off and show Drake what’s good. Nevertheless, hip-hop heads like Joe Budden are interested in seeing what’s to come.
