Songs Streams & Revenue
As reported by Hits Daily Double for the week of August 2 to August 8.
It’s a new week and a new song revenue chart. As reported by Hits Daily Double, which tracks streaming revenue week over week, the above chart reflects the streaming period from August 2 to August 8.
“Not Like Us” had a slight drop in streams but still maintained six-figure revenue, while “Million Dollar Baby” continues to drop. “Houdini” has continued their drop in revenue, dipping under 10M streams once again.
Sauce Walka Calls Drake a Houston Culture Vulture
Each day, Drake dives so deep into his cosplay bag that it would put those at DreamCon to shame. He made his move to Texas even more official by getting his new state ID, which annoyed some people online.
However, those in the Houston rap scene are starting to feel a way about Drake's lack of work there. Sauce Walka recently called Drake out for his fake energy towards the H.
Sauce Walka is sick of Drizzy
During an interview on The Breakfast Club, Sauce Walka broke down his issues with Drake and how he was being a “culture vulture” in his city.
"Why did Drake not have no bunch of records with Houston artists? You been doing that with Atlanta…How did Drake love Houston so much at that time and not have music with artists that you are uplifting from this community? Fuck me. I don't care. It's bigger than me,” he said.
He continued by stating that “it's about fair exchange in business. If you are using the lineage and the culture of somebody's city or somebody's hometown and backyard, do something that helps not yourself and your notoriety for your own benefit with the ladies and the people in the city. Do something that actually makes the economy of their city and music and musicians bigger and greater.”
Drake has worked with Houston legends like Bun B (which Sauce Walka acknowledged—while saying the rapper is really from Port Arthur, TX) and those cementing their name in the history books like Travis Scott. Regardless, Sauce Walka still has an issue with Drizzy. His beef with the Toronto native is nothing new.
Sauce Walka called Drake out for the lack of Houston artists at his Houston Appreciation Week back in 2015, and he even made a diss track, “Wack 2 Wack,” to let everyone know how he was feeling.
In true Drake fashion, though, he responded to Sauce Walka’s frustrations with some snoozing emojis on Instagram.
Bun B and Boi-1da defend Drake
In response to Sauce Walka’s statement about where he was from and the Drake drama, Bun B simply replied with a Notes App screenshot.
Meanwhile, Boi-1da replied to a comment in DJ Akademiks’ comments section of the video that said, “Travis, Bun B, Pimp C, OG Ron C, DJ Screw, Multiple Houston producers, etc.…the sense of entitlement is crazy though,” with just “selective memory.”
Drake has yet to reply to Sauce Walka’s recent accusations and is busy investing in club soccer teams after dropping 100 GIGS. However, we all know that Drizzy never forgets those who talk smack about him and his too-tight braids.

Did Tyler, the Creator Throw Shade at Ian in His New Interview?
Tyler, the Creator in an interview this week with Springhill popped out and told people exactly how he feels about the current rap scene. Before the initial interview was released on August 14, the rapper was already making waves for his view on the new wave of “meme rappers.”
“I love this art form so much, bro, and there’s so many n***** out right now that aren’t musicians that are getting treated like musicians because they make meme records…They’ll publicly be like, ‘I don’t give a fuck about music. I just do this shit for money.’ It’s like the Spider-Man meme of the next n****,” he said during the interview.
Now that the full interview is officially out, fans feel that Tyler has a major issue with a specific rapper currently rising on the scene: Ian.
Did Tyler, the Creator call Ian out?
A clip from the interview is circulating, making hip-hop heads believe that Tyler, the Creator, is addressing Ian’s recent moves.
"This white kid, regular caucasian man, and he's like mocking Future and Gucci Mane like... rap music … This is weird … I am looking at it and something about it don’t even sit well with me in comparison to a Mac Miller or an Eminem, who it didn’t seem like they were mocking it. They had a genuine love for it,” he said.

Despite the industry plant allegations, Ian has gained an army of ride-or-die fans online and in the rap community. Lil Yachty was attacked online for their partnership, but the music video for their song “Hate on Me” has almost seven million views after dropping two weeks ago.
Ian’s manager, Bu Thiam, responded to the alleged diss on his artist’s behalf on his Instagram story. He wrote that he “signed Ian and I'm from Atlanta…He sounds nothing like Gucci or Future lol. It's called influence. I never thought I'd see the day where you become old and hate on the youth lol."
