Billboard Hot 100

Billboard Hot 100 chart

As reported by Billboard for the week of January 18.

The above chart shows Billboard’s Hot 100 ranking for this week. The Hot 100 ranks songs based on streaming activity, radio airplay audience impressions, and sales data—all measured by Luminate.

Songs from K. Dot’s surprise album GNX, including “tv off” and “luther” are still holding on as “Dum, Dumb, and Dumber” from Lil Baby’s newest album WHAM is making its way up the charts (and potentially to the top spot) thanks to a highly anticipated verse from Thugga.

Fans are Arguing Over Ye’s AI Usage (Again)

Close up shot of Ye

After numerous delays, Ye and Ty Dolla $ign finally dropped the highly anticipated sequel to VULTURES on August 3, 2024. However, the project faced major issues right from the start. Some tracks, like FRIED, suffered from poor audio quality and lacked polish. Even worse, fans believed that Ye was using AI on his vocals (specifically on the song “SKY CITY”).

In response to the backlash, Ye returned to the studio, tweaking song titles and reworking beats. Just days later, on August 7, the duo dropped a deluxe version of the album—as the rap world gave them the side eye. Nevertheless, it doesn’t seem like Ye will stop using AI anytime soon.

Ye and AI are locked in

On January 9, Ye dropped the video for the VULTURES 2 track “530.” Lyrically, the song focuses on his ex, Kim Kardashian’s parenting methods for their kids and fears of the future. The AI-driven music video features people in “masks with exaggerated features” getting lip fillers, getting their hair done, and living their everyday lives.

However, fans were unimpressed by the new visuals—and his next announcement only fueled their frustration.

On January 10, the rapper teased the upcoming VULTURES THE MOVIE with another seemingly AI-generated clip reminiscent of the old black-and-white movies you watched at your grandparents' house (but ten times more weird).

Immediately after it dropped, fans online began arguing whether Ye’s use of AI is cutting-edge or chipping away at his GOAT status.

Despite what fans may think, Ye is still on the move. He teased that BULLY (potentially with help from longtime collaborator Mike Dean) and VULTURES 3 may drop this year. He also debuted a new YZY slipper on Instagram.

One thing is for sure — Ye will do what he wants, no matter what others may say or think about it.

Is K. Dot on the New Clipse album?

Kendrick Lamar and Pusha T and No Malice

Before he revealed Drake’s son to the world, Pusha T was part of the hip-hop duo Clipse with his brother No Malice. After meeting Pharrell Williams, their first commercial album, Lord Willin’, dropped in 2002.

From there, the duo began releasing even more projects as their popularity continued to grow. They were even able to do side quests like their fashion line, Play Cloths. After their last project, Till the Casket Drops, was released in 2009, Clipse has been MIA—until now.

They previewed a new song, “Birds Don’t Sing,” during the Louis Vuitton Men’s Spring-Summer 2025 show before eventually confirming that they had a new project in the works.

Titled Let God Sort ‘Em Out, Pusha T stated that the album was completed last December, with production entirely by Pharrell.

“Y’all know how we’re very precious with this music. We are very, very meticulous about everything that we do when it comes to that … We take long. We always take long. People be mad, but it’s okay. ‘Cause it’s done and I’m tellin’ y’all it’s done. I promise you, I have it in my phone,” Pusha T said while at Art Basel Miami

Now, fans are getting a sneaking suspicion that another Drake opp will be making a special appearance on the project.

It’s a Drizzy hater reunion

During an interview on the Ghetto Runways podcast last September, Pusha T said that the upcoming album was “...just waiting on a feature. Just waiting on a feature, bro. Just waiting on a feature,” with a smile.

TikTok user nigelcooper2012 on January 12 then shared his theory that the feature is from Kendrick Lamar due to one of his TikToks getting muted for using the track “Chains and Whips.”

“...TikTok muted my sound for UMG copyright … ‘Chains and Whips’ is the name of the diss track that Clipse debuted at the Louis Vuitton fashion show, and TikTok is telling us that Kendrick Lamar is supposed to be on this song … Kendrick Lamar was working on GNX up until the release date, so after GNX came out, he had enough time to sit down and focus on that verse…” he said.

Nobody from Kendrick or Clipse’s teams has confirmed or denied anything. Nevertheless, fans are excited for what could be another lethal diss track from the minds behind "The Story of Adidon" and "Not Like Us."
