Billboard Hot 100

Billboard hot 100 chart

As reported by Billboard for the week of September 21.

The above chart shows Billboard’s Hot 100 ranking for this week. The Hot 100 ranks songs based on streaming activity, radio airplay audience impressions, and sales data—all measured by Luminate.

Kendrick’s “Not Like Us” and “Million Dollar Baby” have maintained their spot from the week before. GloRilla and Megan The Stallion continue to dominate, with their songs “TGIF” and Megan’s new collab with BTS’ RM “Neva Play” rising in the chart.

Ye Previews New Music at VULTURES Listening Party in China

Ye on stage at listening party

Despite canceling in Taiwan, Ye and Ty Dolla $ign came through and delivered a packed VULTURES listening party in Hainan, China, on September 15. Rumors had previously circulated that Ye was getting inspiration for a new album while spending time in South Korea.

Lucky for fans who made their way to Hainan, the duo performed another monster-sized setlist, giving them a first taste of what may be coming soon.

What went down at the VULTURES listening party

Ye previewed a new song called “Preacher Man” for the excited crowd and said that it was on his next project.

Fans are already feeling the new vibes, with comments about their GOAT not being washed flooding the comments section. However, when it came to their remix of a classic pop song, it had hip-hop heads bopping along like a confused Jay-Z.

Everyone in the crowd, though, could agree about their feelings towards Adidas. Not letting up on his former Yeezy partner, the crowd chanted, “Fuck Adidas, as Ye held up a middle finger in support of their screams.

He also had his children North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm join him on stage as they played the unreleased track “Everybody” sampling the Backstreet Boys. They still don’t have sampling approval from the boy band to use the track (which was originally going to be on VULTURES 1), but that has never stopped Ye before.

With Ye previously living in China for a year while his mother Donda worked as a school teacher, he celebrated being “BACK” with the crowd in Hainan and on social media. While it’s still up in the air when the next VULTURES project is officially coming, at least Ye is delivering little morsels of what he has created so far.

Is “Preacher Man” a banger?

Diddy Gets Taken Into Federal Custody

Diddy being arrested

Physical and sexual abuse allegations have been building up against Diddy for months from ex-romantic partners like Cassie and former employees. The Department of Homeland Security raided both his Miami and LA mansions in March. However, after a grand jury indictment, authorities have now come after Diddy personally.

Diddy’s NY arrest and indictment

Diddy was arrested by federal agents in New York from a Manhattan motel on September 16. The official indictment was sealed at the time, so the exact charges hadn’t been revealed yet.

Diddy is expected to be officially arraigned on September 17. His lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, spoke with the press on September 16 and said that Diddy voluntarily came to New York to “engage the court system and start the case” and maintains that he is innocent.

Regardless of what Agnifilo and Diddy may say, the official 14-page indictment released on September 17 says otherwise. He has been officially charged with racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. The complaint goes into further detail about what Diddy has done, including “striking, punching, dragging, throwing objects” at women and that his businesses “attempted to engage in ‘sex trafficking, forced labor, interstate transportation for purposes of prostitution and coercion…”

It also broke down what authorities found from the previous raids earlier this year, which are “alleged to have resulted in the seizure of ‘various Freak Off supplies,’ including drugs and over 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant.”

Since the news of Diddy’s alleged abuse of power and women has gone public, he has lost everything from the key to the city of New York to his roles in his companies like REVOLT. With a news conference on September 17 from the U.S. Attorney’s office ready to give more details on what’s to come for the rap mogul, it seems his time as a hip-hop giant is officially over.
